We had such a great morning at our WE Create and Celebrate Event! The event was a way for us to come together, relax, reflect on the year gone by and get excited about our dreams for the year ahead.
What I loved about it
Aside from the fun of having a morning off and lots of chat with amazing women! I loved Kat's approach to facilitating the day. She guided us through planning vision boards that combined a healthy personal life with an exciting business plan, and made sure no stone was left unturned.
What I learnt from it
Lesson #1: I am a visual person
Do you sometimes find that you read something and think 'wow, that's amazing I'm definitely going to do that' - you write it down someplace, and never refer back to it?
I do it all the time! If that sounds like you then you might find that vision boarding is an amazing tool for you. It is SO visual and practical. My vision board now has pride of place above my desk, and is a daily reminder of why the WE Network is so special to me and everything I want to acheive in the next 12 months (some of it is pretty crazy!).
No long lists, no overwhelming reading and information digesting, just a simple board that with one glance evokes courage and energy. Plus, it's pretty and it matches my office!!!
Lesson # 2: Business is better when you are not doing it on your own
I have never done a vision board before and I have to say I would struggle to get this completed without setting the time aside and having guidance from an expert.
The whole experience reiterated to me how important it is to lean on and learn from those around you. Without Kat and the WE members who came along to the event, I wouldn't have this incredible visual tool to help me focus in the year ahead.
It is SO important to reach out to those around you and create a dream team of peer supporters, advisors and encouragers. Not only do many hands make light work, but meeting new people opens new doors for your business, and building those face to face friendships can lead to wonderful things both personally and professionally.
Huges thanks to Kat from Kat MacKay Wellness for facilitating this event, and to the amazing Nykie from Nykie Grove Eades Photography for the incredible photos.
