Let me tell you a secret. I am not talented when it comes to systems. I am big picture person with creativity, enthusiasm and ideas, but sit me down to map out my processes, and the energy flows from me like the river to the sea 😂. Clearly, I need some help!

Are you in small business overwhelm? You have so much to do it's hard to focus on just one thing? You spend your time switching from task to task without getting the results you dream of? In this case study Yvonne from The Business Boutique shares with us how she escaped from that very problem, what life is like for her now and we talk about some tools you can use to improve your own productivity. Have you ever noticed how the first few things you do in the morning can dictate how well your day goes? A big realisation for me over time has been that planning and habit go hand in hand. You need to create good habits around yourself for your business activities, otherwise you fall into that overwhelming space of goals not being achieved, and overwhelm and self doubt creeping through that door again. If you can create better habits in your business, you’ll be more likely to succeed. Have you kicked off 2017 in style for your business? Or are you still feeling a bit unclear and overwhelmed about the year to come? If that sounds like you, don't worry! We are here to help and in this post 3 of our members are sharing their top tips to help you start coming to grips with your planning right now.
Let's face it. Planning can be hard in small business. Sometimes there are just SO many things to do that it's too hard to find the time and energy to confront your business fears, assess your progress and plan for the future.
I get it. I do. This exact problem is why planning fascinates me so much! I have spoken to some of our members who have gone from being corporate plan ninjas to complete messes in their own business within months. Why does that happen to women in business? And how can we learn a better path around it? We had such a great morning at our WE Create and Celebrate Event! The event was a way for us to come together, relax, reflect on the year gone by and get excited about our dreams for the year ahead. I know how precious your time is to you. I know that you want to learn how to run your business better. I know that you want to reduce your overwhelm. And I want to come up with ways to help you do each and every one of those things. As I write this- my first blog post ever for The WE Network, I am one part excited about what’s to come, and one part ‘omg what was I thinking?!’ I have a young family. I already have a business. It’s established and profitable but it is by no means perfect. Here’s me on the left with my amazing business partner Karen (due to have her first baby in December!) and the KiwiOz Nannies London team: We’re doing a renovation. I’m swimming uphill at the moment to even fit in time with my family and my friends, or to exercise. I must be seriously crazy to be taking this on as well! But then I sit back and think about the 1400+ NZ women like you who have joined me in The WE Network over the last few months. You are ALL busy. Many of you have much much more going on in your lives than me. Some of you have three or four children. Some of you are working full time jobs while raising families and starting a business. Some of you have overcome harrowing life experiences- or are in the throes of them- and you still want to be challenging yourselves and putting yourselves through the rigiours of entrepreneurship. One of you even attended a webinar while having contractions (no names in public- you know who you are you incredible/ crazy/ dedicated/ passionate mum and business woman!). And it’s when I think about all that you are going through- that WE are going through, I know that this is all going to be worth it. I started The WE Network because I work from home and I felt isolated, and frustrated. I wanted to feel connected to a community of women in business. I wanted to get out from behind the desk and into a life of meeting people and making the most of all NZ has to offer. I wanted to give some support to the many women who I’d spoken to here in NZ who are in business and trying to do it alone. But since I started the community, it has become so much more than that. It has become a facilitator for positive change for me, for you, and for NZ women in business. It has become a place where you can come and share you business problems to get quick answers from your peers. To learn from others about how to become a better entrepreneur. So what now for The WE Network? Today is the first day on a new leg of this journey. We are on this journey together you and I, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you for being a part of it so far. My dream is that The WE Network becomes the first place NZ women in business turn to get support on their business journey. No matter what stage of the journey you are at- from total newby to experienced entrepreneur, I want you to know that this is the place to find the connections and support you need to overcome that obstacle and uplevel your business. I want to extend a warm welcome to every women in New Zealand who owns a business or is thinking about it. There is a place for you here in The WE Network, and we want to see your business- and you- thrive. Also, if you are in business support- a marketing or social media specialist, accountant, experienced entreprenuer, event co-ordinator, business coach or mentor please join us. This is an entry level business platform and it is NOT a one stop shop! WE need you to help us create a thriving base for the female entrepreneurs of New Zealand. From here, NZ women in business will be able to find your service. You will be able to speak to them on a personal level, offer support to their business and help them get to know and trust you. So let’s do this together ladies! Let’s figure out and help each other reach our goals. There is a way forward that will work well for you and for us as women. Together we can navigate that path and make it smoother for ourselves, and for the women of the future.
